How to Move from Selling on Instagram and WhatsApp to Your Own Store

Most of the shop owners we build for did not start with a website. They started by posting products on Instagram and answering price questions in WhatsApp, one message at a time, until the messages became the whole working day.

That is a good problem. It means demand already exists. This guide is about turning it into a store without losing the customers or the way they like to order.

The signs you have outgrown DM selling

You do not need a website to make your first sales. You need one when the admin starts costing you sales.

  • You answer the same price and delivery questions every day
  • Orders get lost between chats and screenshots
  • You cannot show your full range in a way people can browse
  • Customers ask whether you are a real business before paying
  • Nothing you sell shows up when someone searches for it

What changes on day one with a store

The biggest change is not sales, it is time. Prices, sizes, delivery cost and stock live on the page, so conversations start at ordering rather than at explaining.

The second change is trust. A shop on its own domain, with policies and a real contact page, converts people who would never send money to a social account they cannot verify.

  • One link to send instead of a photo and a price message
  • Delivery cost answered before anyone asks
  • Orders arrive in one place with the details attached
  • You can be found in Google search, not only in feeds

Keep WhatsApp, it is an advantage

Moving to a store does not mean forcing everyone through a card checkout. Many of our clients keep WhatsApp as the ordering method because that is what their buyers trust, and cash on delivery alongside it.

The store does the browsing and the explaining. WhatsApp closes the order. Every product page can carry a button that opens a chat with the product name already written in.

  • Order on WhatsApp button on every product
  • Card payment as an option, not a requirement
  • Cash on delivery where your market expects it

Moving without losing your customers

The mistake is treating launch day as a switch. Run both for a while and lead people across gradually.

  • Put the shop link in your Instagram and Facebook bio the day it launches
  • Reply to price questions with the product link instead of a number
  • Post the same products with the link, not a screenshot
  • Tell repeat customers directly, with a reason to use the site
  • Keep answering DMs, just answer them with links

What to prepare before the build

You already own most of what a store needs, because you have been selling. Collect it in one place and the build is quick.

  • Your product list with current prices
  • Your best existing product photos, plus reshoots of the weak ones
  • Your delivery rule, written as one sentence
  • Screenshots of genuine customer messages you are allowed to quote
  • The name and domain you want to own

What this actually costs

A store build with us starts from PKR 19,999, with the price fixed in writing before work begins, the domain and hosting in your own name, an admin area so you can add products yourself, and no monthly platform fee afterwards.

You can see the result on live client stores rather than taking that on trust. Several of them started exactly where you are, selling in DMs.

You already have the hard part, which is customers. A store just stops you spending your day retyping the same answers.

Send your product list and a few photos on WhatsApp and you will get a fixed price and a launch date back, with the domain registered in your own name.
